America’s Dad is no longer with us. Comedian and actor Bob Saget passed away on Sunday Jan. 9 at the age of 65.
His death was first reported by TMZ, who stated that he was found unresponsive in a Florida Ritz-Carlton Hotel, just one day after performing a stand-up show in the state.

The Sheriff’s Department and fire department fled to the hotel around 4pm est, after a hotel employee found him in his room, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. His cause of death is still under investigation. Detectives found no signs of drug use or foul play.
Saget was best known for playing Danny Tanner on the ABC sitcom, Full House and Fuller House. He was the first host of America’s Funniest Home Videos and went on to star in other roles such as The Masked Singer, Surviving Suburbia, Entourage, How I Met Your Mother and many more. He was also a stand-up comedian and a podcast host.
The late comedian was born in Mount Airy, Pa, and attended and graduated from Temple University in the mid-1970’s.it was. Rest in Peace Bob Saget.
When Temple’s College of Media and Communication, which Saget graduated from, christened the name Klein College in 2017, after the late Lew Klein, Saget served as an emcee for the ceremony. He credited Klein with having him help get his television career started.
“Saget will always be remembered as one of Temple’s all-time funniest Owls,” the university said. “While Saget will be deeply missed, his legacy and overall impact on the entertainment industry will continue to be felt for years to come.”
Hundreds of tributes poured in, including from his Full House family, who were shocked and devastated.
Saget is survived by his wife and three children. Thank you for making our childhood what it was. Rest in Peace Bob Saget.
