Louis Knight was a fan favorite last year on “American idol.” But he fell short of winning the title and placed 7th. Now, this season Knight and 9 other contestants from last season will be returning.
Season 18 contestants will be performing songs on the Idol stage for a chance to win a spot in the top 10. The top 12 will be revealed on April 12th and then the following week last year’s 10 contestants will perform on stage and fans can vote for them to come back into the competition. Only one will make it through.
The contestants that will be competing are Knight, Arthur Gunn, Faith Becnel, Franklin Boone, Nick Merico, Olivia Ximines, Makayla Phillips, DeWayne Croker Jr., Cyniah Elise and Aliana Jester.
The winning contestant will get announced on May 2nd.
Knight will perform his original song and latest hit, “Maybe That,” which he would have performed last year if he had made it to the top 5.
Idol showrunners said they are doing this so the contestants will have a chance to perform on the Idol stage since they had to perform at home due to the pandemic.
