Here’s Where Pennsylvania Ranks In A St. Patrick’s Day Drinking Survey

Phialdelphia Entertainment News

St. Patrick’s Day is a few short weeks away and that means drinking, parties, parades and everything green and Irish. And according to a new survey, Pennsylvania will be drinking a lot.

Time2Play.com surveyed 1,500 Americans from all 50 states and Washington D.C. to see how they spend St. Patrick’s Day.

According to the survey, Pennsylvania is the state that drinks the most with an average of 4.26 drinks consumed on the day of the Irish, followed by Minnesota and Mississippi. Surprisingly though, they are not the state that spends the most on drinks. Pennsylvania spends about $38.48 on drinks, which would put the state in about the middle.

New Jersey ranks in as the number one state that spends the most with an average of $57.76 spent on drinks. The District of Columbia would be next, followed by Nevada. Pennsylvania doesn’t even rank in the top 10 spenders.

The survey also found that beer was the most popular drink of choice with 74.62% of the vote, followed by mixed drinks.

Pennsylvania also reported 18.6% of people surveyed drink alone on St. Patrick’s Day, making it the second loneliest city behind Indiana.
