Gritty Gets Makeover From Netflix’s Fab Five in Queer Eye Special

Philly Entetainment News

Last month, Queer Eye Season 5 highlighted the beautiful ‘heroes’ of our city and brought their stories to light. The latest season of one of Netflix’s most beloved series featured people from all different areas of Philly with different backgrounds. Recently, the show’s official instagram showed a letter from Phillie Phanatic which requested help from the Fab Five for a very popular Philly mascot – none other than Gritty!

Within the past couple seasons, Queer Eye has had both mini seasons and bonus episodes after the complete seasons are released, giving fans even more awesome content once the episodes are binge watched. The fact that Queer Eye decided to feature Gritty in a short bonus episode just makes the Philly centered season even more special.

The letter from the Phanatic is addressed from Citizens Bank Park and writes, “Dear Fab 5, I’m so happy to hear that you are coming to the city of Philadelphia for season 5 of Queer Eye, and do I have the perfect hero for you. My Pal.” With this fun teaser posted, fans were immediately speculating who the mystery hero would be, and were pleasantly surprised to find it was Gritty!

The 8-minute bonus episode was released on Netflix’s youtube channel today, and featured Gritty getting lifestyle advice from each Fab Five member. From grooming tips for his wild eyebrows from Jonathan to changing up his cheesesteak diet with Antoni, the episode is light-hearted and fun, making us all remember the reasons we love our dear city so much.
