It is officially December and that means holiday shows and events are officially underwraps! Philadelphia has so many things to offer for the holiday season and one of them is the annual Holiday Tree Lighting.
Philadelphia’s favorite holiday tradition, the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Powered by PECO took place Friday, Dec. 3 from 6pm to 9pm at the BlueCross RiverRink. It is the official countdown to New Year’s Eve on the waterfront.
This year’s headliners were America’s Got Talent alums Bianca Ryan (season one winner, AGT: The Champions) and Dylan Zangwill (season 16 wildcard), both Philly natives. 13 acts in total took the stage for a two hour production of over 40 performances that included gospel choirs, Latin ensembles, dancers, synchronized skaters, and more, according to the Delaware River Front website.
Ryan sang her most popular hit, “Why Couldn’t It Be Christmas Everyday?” as well as songs off her 2020 Holiday EP.
The pre-show started at 5:45 P.M. and the free main show was from 6:00P.M to 8. ABC aired Ryan’s performance of “Hallelujah” and other singers’ performances that night at 7:30, so those who couldn’t make it could still enjoy the music.
Ryan is so close to releasing her version of Britney Spears’ “Lucky.” Be sure to follow her on social media to know when that releases. According to her Facebook page, she is also planning a Holiday EP release party, since she couldn’t do it last year, due to the pandemic. For right now, stream her Holiday EP
