If you’re from Philly, you know the 6ABC crew – Jim Gardner, Ducis Rodgers, and one of our favorite meteorologists (along with Adam Joseph of course), Cecily Tynan! Recently, Cecily traveled all the way to the west coast to have a one on one interview with none other than late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel!
Cecily’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live isn’t the first time the west coast got a taste of Philly! In October, the Temple University Diamond Band was featured on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, for a collaborative performance with Young Thug.
In the interview, Cecily Tynan asked Jimmy some burning questions, beginning with perhaps the most important, “When are you coming to Philly?” Jimmy responded, “It’s something I specifically want to do. I have a lot of very good friends in Philadelphia- Chef Marc Vetri and I do Alex’s Lemonade charity events together.” Marc Vetri is the chef and founder of Philadelphia’s Vetri Cucina, located on 1312 Spruce St. In addition, Cecily asked Jimmy about his newly released children’s book, titled The Serious Goose, to which Jimmy noted that all proceeds made from the book will go to children’s hospitals across the country. Jimmy did not neglect to mention Philly’s CHOP, which he will be making a donation to as well.
At the conclusion of the interview, Cecily couldn’t resist but to mention favored news anchor Jim Gardner. After the finishing news segment, Jim always introduces Jimmy Kimmel Live, as well as the guests that will be on the show. Some of the musical artists names are peculiar, which has become a running joke amongst the 6ABC team and Kimmel himself! When Cecily mentioned Jim and the joke, Jimmy laughed and said, “I’m sometimes no better at saying the names than he is! I think of him sometimes when I’m reading the guests that are going to be on the show.”
Seeing someone so close to home meet with someone like Jimmy Kimmel was great and who knows, maybe Kimmel will stop by Philly or even 6ABC sometime!
